We write a serie of post about How we use Timmy on our blog. Take a look to have great tips and insights about how you can work better with Timmy.
To create a note in your current project. Go to your instant messaging application and type the content of your note. For example, you could type Write an email to John about our new idea #todo.
Just remember that in order to understand that you are typing a note, our robot asks that you provide at least one tag in the message body. You can specify tags by using the # sign directly followed by your tag (without space).
To reply to an existing note, Go to your instant messaging application, type @ directly followed by your note number and type your message. For example : @1 sent the mail to John... still waiting for a resonse
If you are in a team, you can send notes to you coworkers by using the following syntax : @[teammate_name] my note here. For example : @dan I think that we should make a better help page, what do you think?. Dan will then receive the note directly in its instant messaging application. If Dan replies to the note, the reply will be sent back to the person who created the note. Note that it is not necessary to specify a #tag when sending a note to a teammate.
What if you want to send your note to more than 1 teammate? It's easy : @dan @john guys do you remember which software we use for image processing?. If you want to send a message to your whole team : @team Someone knows if the bug @123 has been fixed? Once someone is "included" in the note, he or she receives every follow-ups in its instant messaging application.
Finally, it can be useful to archive a note when you don't want to see it in your dashboard anymore (think of a note tagged as #todo for example). Here is how you archive a note via IM : archive note @100 where @100 is your note ID.
