There are a few standard sizes with ready made vanity units which are 600mm 750mm 900mm 1200mm and 1500mm. There are vanities that are even smaller than this and these are perfect for a small powder room or guest bathrooms. The Dante vanity range for example features a 400mm bathroom vanity which is lovely and compact for a small bathroom area. You can of course have it custom made to the size that is well fitted in your bathroom. If you decide to go with this option there are a couple of things to consider:
There are different styles of vanities which can be used in the bathrooms these days. Some vanities just look like closets with a sink whereas there are some that dont even look like closets. The vanities such as the contemporary bathroom vanities have cabinets that help to store many items. You need to look at a vanity as a place where you can wash your hands and even store some toiletries and towels.
When any one unit gets damaged you dont need to chance the entire vanity. Just replace the unit that is damaged. The sinks can be embedded in the counters or they can be kept over the counters. Both these combinations look very good. When you are buying the bathroom vanities make sure that the sinks are large and broad. Generally the trend is to have white colored vanity sinks but these days people prefer multicolored vanity sinks.
All in all it is best to get bathroom vanities that compliment the overall appearance of your bathroom. Aside from the appearance other factors such as the costs durability and low maintenance requirement should also be considered. You can usually get tips and ideas from friends and relatives with their experience on modern bathroom vanities.
